This article is written word for word from the APUS web sites. Wiki is not a marketing tool.24.179.208.119 (talk) 03:59, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, this is article needs cleaning up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.201.159.21 (talk) 00:57, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Merges[edit]

I am proposing that the two articles relating to the constituent parts of this organisation are merged into this one. This is because the information is substantially similar in places (for example, the heads of the groupings are all the same) and, most important of all, I think this central article could become one, very smart article with enough information to make for an informative read, whilst at present I feel that the information is very thinly spread across three articles. I am asking for any comments. Best wishes - Fritzpoll (talk) 20:58, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge - sounds sensible to me.--ukexpat (talk) 21:04, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yeah Agreed--NAHID 21:10, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Merge completed, but this article needs some serious referencing work done. I shall tag it in due course. - Fritzpoll (talk) 23:09, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"American Public University System (APUS) is a private..."[edit]

Huh? 68.197.187.215 (talk) 21:59, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The "Public" in "American Public University" and its parent "American Public University System" doesn't refer to the type of school, but to the school's focus on education for government and public service, similar to American Military University's focus on defense and national security education. das (talk) 22:47, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DLTruth.com[edit]

A small range of IP editors are repeatedly adding a link from the site dltruth.com. That site is an unmoderated forum criticizing various aspects of the school's programs. I have no problem with criticism, however this site is not a reliable source as it is purely, by definition, original and unverifiable research - the latter of which is specifically named in WP:LINKSTOAVOID. I do not wish to seek blacklising for this site, but it may come down to that if the link keeps getting re-added (unless a discussion is had, and consensus is reached). Any comments? --Honesroc (talk) 19:52, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It looks to me like there is just one IP involved recently. That IP is blocked for now. --Orlady (talk) 14:11, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notable alumni[edit]

Not every single General in the military is notable, there have been thousands of Generals in the military. All but one of the "notable" alumni mentioned lack an article on Wikipedia, some of them aren't even in command positions. Unless citations are given proving their notability I will remove most of them. Also the university is no longer accredited by the DETC. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.169.25.68 (talk) 07:28, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Third party sources[edit]

There have been a considerable number of published 3rd party sources discussing this university in some detail, not all of it in a positive way. They need to be covered. I'll try to work on it if I have the time to do so. DGG ( talk ) 04:00, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
