The source for the first version of this article was the Encyclopedia Mythica - unfortunately totally unreliable on Polynesian and Oceanic mythology. (*Lindemans, Micha F. The article also fails to identify the culture of origin - the name Ami-Te-Rangi could have come from a variety of Polynesian languages Kahuroa 21:36, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
