Last sentence of synopsis makes no sense[edit]

I have never read the book. I just came here to learn something more about the plot and meaning. The final sentence of the synopsis is "Calvin makes a friend in Paris, who he then leaves Napoleon (healed from ever feeling pain again) and heads to America with" and it makes no sense, especially as the sentence ends in a preposition that is screaming for a conclusion to its meaning. Is Calvin leaving for America with the new friend or what? Could somebody please clarify and fix this last sentence of the WP synopsis of "Alvin Journeyman," please?
