Native advertising[edit]

@HickoryOughtShirt?4, this source is a native advertisement, a sponsored post. I'm fine with it being used for WP:ABOUTSELF-level information, but it absolutely needs to be identified for what it is, as its content does not reflect the editorial department of the Financial Post. Would you have any thoughts on how best to handle this? Cheers, {{u|Sdkb}}talk 20:30, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sdkb, LOL, when I first read your comment I thought you meant this article was a native advertisement. I have no issue removing the article, I think I used the Post once. My apologies for missing it. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 20:33, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@HickoryOughtShirt?4, that's a fine solution, as luckily there seem to be some other sources. I'm somewhat curious what we'd have done if we'd wanted to retain it as an WP:ABOUTSELF source, though; e.g. is there a {{Cite news}} parameter for sponsored content or a {{Cite advert}}? WP:SPONSORED doesn't cover it. Seems like a somewhat rare situation but not impossible. Cheers, {{u|Sdkb}}talk 21:09, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
