No need for individual articles[edit]

Quite surprising to find the RCA series has so many of the 75 articles in Category:The Essential, The Essential Chet Atkins The Essential Harry Belafonte The Essential Tony Bennett etc.: is RCA really so much more notable than EMI? Or again Category:20th Century Masters albums.Any compilation series is probably really only notable as a totality, in this case the main international series of compilations for a major music label, ...though some of the constituent parts had a previous life prior to the series. The word "major" EMI series has been reverted from the article .... is there another EMI compilation album series being retailed on Amazon.com currently? In ictu oculi (talk) 02:32, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Similar compilation album lists have been deleted because the series themselves are not covered in reliable sources. Categories have been created to collect albums from such series but individual lists of such album series have been deleted in AfD (although some have been converted to/recreated as disambiguation pages).

I would believe many of the articles on individual albums are not notable with a number of them having been deleted or redirected in AfD.
