Most people in Aliano are unemployed[original research?],and are over the age of 65 which means the birth rate is low[original research?]. The population of Aliano is 1495 and falling which is bad because the government wants to keep the village alive![citation needed] Even though many are farmers, and despite their hard work, little money comes in.[citation needed] Many in Aliano want to move to northern Italy, where standards of living are higher, but residents fear losing their family and friends and their traditional lifestyle. Also many people can't grow their food due to the rain sliding down steep hills because that's only where they can grow their crops plus their crops will drown from the rain and die.

I removed this because it's almost entirely opinion and OR. Matthew Glennon (talk) 12:32, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
