Please do not add POV statements such as "the greatest" etc. They are unencyclopedic. His California school was not established in the 1950s, but the 1960s. Hekerui (talk) 00:58, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Widely regarded as the greatest living instrumentalist?

Please provide source!! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 63.166.14.2 (talk) 22:14, 8 January 2007 (UTC).

come on now!!! wikipedia is not a hagiography for individuals!!! All the praise for his playing is subjective!!!!! And terms like "greatest living musician" are ridiculous. Ravi Shankar, and Hariprasad can say the same thing, hey when i sing in the bathroom my girlfriend says im the greatest singer.

"Greatest living instrumentalist" is actually from a quote about Khan-Sahib, by the late Sir Yehudi Menuhin. Unfortunately, I don't know when Sir Yehudi said it. It may be from an album liner note? gar in Oakland (talk) 06:05, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
