Article Issues[edit]

I removed the tag that was placed on this article about it being a BPL, as this person has died in 2005 and it was not properly considered by the person that added it to the article. Nothing specific was provided as to why they wanted to delete this other than, "I don't understand that title" and yet the title is a persons name Alfred Brooks and his profession in parentheses (dance) because Alfred Brooks is a common name to wikipedia with more than one entry, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_Brooks Jooojay (talk) 17:36, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

Shouldn't the name of the article be Alfred Brooks (dancer), to be in line with other articles such as Alfred Brooks (cricketer), or Gonzalo Garcia (dancer). I admit the second one is a redirect, but it still makes my point.

I guess my point is, it doesn't, to me atleast, seem to be in line with other, similar, articles on wikipedia. m8e39 05:52, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, probably should be - have moved it. (Though I can also see the argument that he's really notable as a dance company founder, rather than just a dancer ... ). I created redirect and dab page entry from Alfred Brooks Pew and Al Brooks respectiveley while I was at it. PamD 14:13, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:QUALIFIER: "The disambiguator is usually a noun indicating what the person is noted for being. In most cases these nouns are standard, commonly used tags such as "(musician)" and "(politician)" " OK, so "dance" is a noun too, but the examples don't use "music" or "politics".
