I am not sure why I find myself in an edit war with user:Demophon. It is common to use British honorifics in front of names of British people entitled to them in the lead, though not in the article title. My edits arose out of work to expand List of ambassadors from the United Kingdom to Spain, which I regard as still being work in progress. I removed the reference to the Earl of Manchester, because I could find no evidence that he was ever an envoy to Spain. He (see Charles Montagu, 1st Duke of Manchester) was Ambassador to France during part of the time when Stanhope was in Spain. If I am wrong, please restore that phrase, but with a citation.
