He was an Earl before the Act of Union, so he would have been a member of the Second Estate of the Parliament of Scotland. Even though he remains rather obscure, his membership of a national legislature means that Seton passes WP:POLITICIAN. youngamerican (wtf?) 14:43, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
