Election question[edit]

With regard to the footnote - Murison's entry in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography states that he also stood in 1900 for the Glasgow Bridgeton constituency but this does not accord with the record of elections at Glasgow Bridgeton (UK Parliament constituency) - it appears that this is an error on Glasgow Bridgeton (UK Parliament constituency) as shown not only in the ODNB but also in his biography (shown in the sources section) and Eyre-Todd, George (1909), Who's who in Glasgow in 1909, Glasgow & London, OCLC 314786290 (talk) 10:31, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Concerning the copyright of A.F. Murison's portrait, I now have confirmation from Murison's relatives that copyright no longer applies and that the present owner of the portrait is happy for it to be used in the Wikipedia biography. Here is the e-mail message: "Firstly I want to say you have done a fantastic job with the entry on wikipedia. Regarding the use of AF Murison portrait my wifes legal books say that any copyright is with the painter or his estate until 70 years after his death. We do not know who the artist is, so the law says that we can take the 70 years from end of year of portrait; so this has definitely expired. Mary Lou Watson who is the Granddaughter of AF Murison owns the painting now and took the photo for my website. I have an email from her to verify that she is also happy for the photo to be used on wikipedia & I am happy for it to be taken off murison.net. Hope this covers everything. Regards, Derek Murison site owner of murison.net." (Ajsinclair (talk) 09:39, 26 June 2011 (UTC)).[reply]

Please forward the email as an attachment (i.e. a full copy with email headers) to commons(at)wikimedia.org so that the image can have an OTRS ticket added to it for verification. Thanks (talk) 10:19, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
