Age

The IMDB entry for Alan has this: ""Rockliffe's Babies"

Now I know that that show was about very young policemen, but wouldn't Carr have been too young to be in this? Also, we don't have a date of birth for him yet - can]] anyone oblige? DavidFarmbrough 04:59, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Alan was in the year above me at school, (Booth Lower School, Northampton) so he would have been born sometime between Sept '75 and August '76. He was in the same year (and school) as Michael Underwood. So yes, at approximately 13 years old, he would have been a bit young. 82.5.24.54 22:55, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

background section

i think this needs to be renamed, but i'm at a loss for a new heading atm. either that, or the info about him saving the suicidal man, should be moved, as it's not 'background' info! same with the info about appearing on Vanessa. i do think the section needs to be renamed, more than this info being moved, but like i said, i can't think of a more appropriate word right now (mind blank!)

also, if he was at that school (mentioned in section above) why not add this to the background section? (i see this more background info, than saving a man's life!)

tbh, looking at his page, it could probably do with being set out better, having an actual career section, incorporating his comedy work and awards with his tv work. Geeness 23:23, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Update

I've sorted the article a bit - I've made a 'personal life' section (this section can be added to at any time) and kept the background section, moving the story about him saving a sucidal man to 'personal life' as requested.

Don't know if that's an improvemnt or not?

Stand up Wikipedia Reference

As I understand it, he is producing a DVD of his current tour so that will make referencing a lot easier, but for now I'll just mention here that in his stand up performance last night in Bournemouth (he was hilarious by the way), Wikipedia was part of his act. He mentioned he searched for himself on the web and came across himself on Wikipedia. "It said I'd died! I got a call from a friend who'd seen it...". I won't go on, incase anyone is hoping to go and see him live, but thought that worth a mention, albeit on the Talk page.

Duplicate Chortle Links

I'd edit this myself, but the article is (understandably) protected (isn't there meant to be some message to that effect?)

There are two links to (ultimately) the same page in the external links. I think it is the first one that needs to be removed.

Widespread vandalism on 12 November

Just to keep you aware - Alan Carr was on The Chris Moyles Show on BBC Radio 1 where they talked about editing the Wikipedia entry for Alan to add all sorts of false details (this after Alan mentioned that Wikipedia said he was dead). Once this was mentioned, the floodgates then opened to all the listeners of the show to further edit it erroneously. The webpage was discussed just before 9am GMT so the flood of entries around this time can be explained by this.....that was a good radio show HAHAHA....HAHA, it was :)

Sorted it out a bit

I have added a section for radio appearences. I believe he appears on the radio frequently; I would appreciate if others would be able to add any more relevant information concerning this section.

Not sure about "corrected", but it's in there now, with his own commentary on it. Although part of his image, it's not something he makes a big deal of, and neither should we, per WP:BLP. Let that be an end of it. --Rodhullandemu 15:56, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Not done. I just removed that category completely from all remaining articles then tagged the category for deletion in place of the more specialized/detailed categories which list LGBT Television personalities from the countries that they're from. There's no need to re-add a more general category. On the third paragraph of the Personal Life please replace 'once saying that "I just think gay people .....' with 'once saying, "I just think gay people .....' (remove the word that and replace it with a comma) because the word that is inappropriate for quoted speech and should only be used for reported speech.
