To the editors who intend for this article to be a collection of praiseworthy things done by or said about the subject, please see WP:Coatrack. Reinstated material that does not appear notable or relevant may be removed. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 03:47, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Substance?[edit]

The article is painful to read: the praise is lavish yet unsubstantiated by detail; vocabulary, though effusive, is limited; and ordinary biographical details are lacking. Where was the subject born, and when? Has he a wife or children? To which sect of Islam does he belong? Where does he reside today, and why?

I hope that the author of this article, clearly an admirer of its subject, will supply these and other details to an audience that has some interest in reading them. Firstorm (talk) 00:48, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Distinctions and Distinguished Lectures[edit]

Boy, is that a collection of crappy distinctions. --91.55.112.100 (talk) 21:53, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, a Disgrace[edit]

I'm sure he is a nice guy, but whenever I read an article this POV, I think that something must be wrong with the subject. --91.55.112.100 (talk) 22:01, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hm, seems we need a discussion here. Let's say: The article is so obviously POV that it hurts my eyes. Example: "His current project, [...] is an unprecedented study [...]" (No reference of course). --91.55.112.100 (talk) 08:06, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"He's a frequent guest on dozens of networks", "click here to see his book on Amazon" and similar form content is useless fluff. Seems one or two editors are intent on keeping this despite many other editors' comments here and in edit-summary messages. DMacks (talk) 12:04, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Source[edit]

This article is almost a complete copy&paste from the website of the American University where he teaches. I imagine it was written by himself or the media relations office. At least the poster excluded his favourite spot on campus. http://www.american.edu/sis/faculty/akbar.cfm Ss6803 (talk) 20:44, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Many of his books, articles, distinctions and lectures are not mentioned here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.221.123.1 (talkcontribs)

Fill in[edit]

Can somebody please add more articles written by him and lectures he gave. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 187.136.83.22 (talkcontribs)

Copyvio concerns[edit]

I'm not sure who copied who, but http://www.muslimsforamerica.us/about/AkbarAhmad.html has many sentences that are identical to those in this article. Tijfo098 (talk) 05:55, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see this was noted before here, but the talk page was deleted in violation of WP:TALK. Restored now. Tijfo098 (talk) 06:06, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
