Bat bombs never used

Why are we telling the reader about bat bombs when they were never used? It's an interesting side story but not at all the main thrust. The presence of the bat bombs in our story has the effect of ridiculing the otherwise very serious firebomb research. I think it's distracting. Binksternet (talk) 04:29, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

I think that the current single sentence reflects the weight this topic receives in reliable sources on this campaign - it's usually mentioned in the context of the efforts the US military made to overcome the difficulties of attacking Japan. I agree with your edit adding more material on the development of "conventional" fire weapons. Something I've tried to do with this article is to make it clear just how (deliberately) destructive this campaign was. Nick-D (talk) 09:09, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
