Brazil nut trees send aerial roots[edit]

Brazil nut trees send aerial roots into the root mat of epiphytic orchids and ferns on high branches. This was written up in Biotropica some years ago, but I can not locate the reference.--Wloveral (talk) 02:10, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit[edit]

Four Edit tags are bunched together half way down rather than being in their correct places one on each heading. I don't know how to fix this. (Mollwollfumble (talk) 22:02, 4 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]

It it caused by the large number of images all together (relative to the amount of nearby text). The best fix is to scatter the images throughout the article and write more text (if needed and assuming there is more to say, that is); see MOS:IMAGES. There's lots of technical detail at (some page I can't find now). Kingdon (talk) 15:28, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing about the Aerial root itself!![edit]

After all said and done, there is nothing in the article about how the aerial root works, what its anatomy is or its features. Only a taxonomy of direction of growth (up or down) and what ELSE these roots do besides (somehow) taking in water from the air. They strangle, they bring in air (at least here three words were allowed for the process), they are used for structure, and they become new plants, after falling off the main plant. פשוט pashute ♫ (talk) 22:47, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
