Cobamamide aka Dibencozide[edit]

Cobamamide is also known as dibencozide. I think its a worthy fact to note in the stub.24.83.178.11 09:37, 25 June 2007 (UTC)BeeCier[reply]

Structure[edit]

The displayed structure contains an error. There is a bond from the cobalt that leads nowhere symbolizing a CH3 that should not be there.87.102.144.167 07:25, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Tycho R. Leifels[reply]

Yes, I agree. There shouldn't be a methyl group. The issue is how do we remove it if we do not have the original file. --Kupirijo (talk) 08:56, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the methyl group. --kupirijo (talk) 01:32, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Active form of cyanocobalamin?[edit]

Hi,

The article state "is a cofactor (active) form of cyanocobalamin."

However isn't cyanocobalamin and adenosyl-cobalamin two forms of cobalamin ??? [[1]]

I'm placing the Neutrality tag on this article[edit]

This is insane. I demand a new name on this article, that is not biased towards Barack Obama. Seriously, can we keep biological/scientific articles out of politics please? Appalling really. 68.143.88.2 (talk) 14:06, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Title change[edit]

Hi, I think it would be worthy to change the title of the article to Adenosylcobalamin, or perhaps Coenzyme B12. Cobamamide is a drug name, of which adenosylcobalamin has several (including Dibencozide). For researchers in the field of cobalamin synthesis, "cobamamide" is practically never used. A google scholar result returns a few hundred "cobamamide" articles, about a third of which are patents, vs. several thousand for "adenosylcobalamin," many of which are in prominent journals such as JACS and others in the ACS family. Thoughts? FlavorFMN (talk) 22:34, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree - use the standardized scientific name - Adenosylcobalamin — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.204.136.119 (talk) 04:41, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
