Given the dubious date of death, I have to refer on an article I found on a Greek local newspaper, named "Olympio Vima" of 1984. It cites ANA (Athens News Agency), saying that "former Prime Minister of Libya, Abdul Hamid al Bakkoush, was executed in Tripoli last Monday (date of the article: 18 November 1984)." This news cites State Radio of Libya and according to this, "Radio programme was recorded in Cairo by the official state Egyptian News Agency. At the end, the news item says that "there was no more information". --Lemur12 (talk) 21:52, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Having read The Maverick State: Gaddafi and the New World Order by Guy Arnold, on page 36 it states reports of Bakkoush's death were a ruse by Egyptian officials in a bid to get Gaddafi/Libya to announce the assassination was successful to expose Libya's attempts at assassination Libyan expats in Cairo. While no newspaper sources are provided for this, Guy Arnold is a proven reliable source. UncleBourbon (talk) 21:20, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
