February 2009[edit]

wasn't Eddie Murphy 19 years old as a cast member on SNL? If so, Elliott would be at least the third youngest cast member overall.74.179.17.62 (talk) 05:33, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

October 2009[edit]

I'd say that if there is only one person/journalist calling her "deadweight", it's not really worthy to be in Elliott's entry since not really objective. Off-the-air (talk) 00:43, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

July 2010[edit]

September 2011[edit]

Why do people keep editing this article to remove the section on her celebrity impressions on SNL? I have added the section back, but it may be incomplete. Pongydog (talk) 05:25, 06 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because the list, as stated so far, has never been sourced. No independent, verifiable, reliable source has listed her impressions with any significant discussion of them, or review of them. Consider that this is a biography of a living person, so the standards for inclusion of material are quite stringent. All unsourced material must be removed. So don't be surprised if it disappears again. Just find RS, and cite them, if there are any. --Lexein (talk) 05:52, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I concur. Also, are they notable for an encyclopaedia article or a incomplete trivial list of cruft? Span (talk) 12:39, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well notability applies to whole articles, not specific content per se, so IMHO the impressions have a place in a well-sourced paragraph (not a list), but only if they are widely, multiply, reliably reported. Otherwise, no way. --Lexein (talk) 10:38, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I guess that answers Pongydog's question. Span (talk) 12:39, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What would be acceptable to use to cite the list? Since the proof that she has done the impressions is in the episodes of SNL themselves. Pongydog (talk) 02:49, 09 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Any independent WP:RS. This could potentially include newspaper-related blogs, or blogs by established authors, or academic sources. Check once a month - and try the FindSources links, at the top of this page. Also, for more guidance on what is and isn't usually added to WP, see WP:NOT. --Lexein (talk) 06:19, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've included a ref for four impressions. --Lexein (talk) 04:19, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Again, sourcing[edit]

Her impressions are largely unsourced. They do not fall under the "plot" exception for sourcing. Independent reliable sources are required, or the majority of the impression characters should be deleted. --Lexein (talk) 11:32, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Portrait???[edit]

Why is the photo a portrait???

After a brief search, I didn’t find any photos available for use. Maybe this is the only available? I would suggest keeping it up, if only to encourage someone with an actual photo to upload that.
Would some other folks like to jump in here and discuss if the image should remain? If there are no photos available then I think the image is fine for now. It doesn’t seem to be harming the article and could be a catalyst for someone who does have a photo.
since nobody else has joined in this conversation, I am going to revert the edit back to using the image. 2607:FCC8:AF0D:1700:34FF:931B:1E5C:D27A (talk) 11:38, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Are we talking about the painting of Elliot? I removed it. The painting is not notable. The artist is not notable. There is no mention of it in the article. There is no mention of it or the artist in any source or on any internet search. This is simply uploaded by someone who painting a portrait of Elliot. Not notable for inclusion. Do not revert or include unless there is a clear source that states a notable reason for inclusion. Maineartists (talk) 23:42, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't add the painting because it is notable but rather because the article has no image otherwise. Wouldn't some image be better than no image? My hope is that it could be a catalyst for someone with a photograph to come forward and make it available for use. I suggest we keep the image of the painting up because it adds to the article that would otherwise have no image of Abbey Elliott.66.117.202.154 (talk) 15:18, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What is this weird thing going on? There are thousands of different photos of Abby Elliott readily available in Google. Why wasn't any of those uploaded? 2A03:32C0:16:ADBB:1:0:1D4B:4A24 (talk) 19:46, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
