90 percent of race distance[edit]

I don't know if this has been discussed before, I'm just curious. Why is Vettel given a position when he completed only 47 laps out of 53 which is approx. 88,7 % of the race distance? Shouldn't the limit be 90 % and then 48 laps? FinnishF1Fan (talk) 14:10, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The FIA live timing and the F1.com "official" site give him 22nd place, and I guess ours is not to reason why [1]. Not sure about the exact maths there, but the computer says 22nd. Bretonbanquet (talk) 14:17, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
