A fact from 2012–13 RFU Championship appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 13 May 2012 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
The contents list, seems to me, to be too long and intrusive. {horizontal TOC|nonum=yes} will put it in a horizontal format. What do other people think?
See List of top-division football clubs in UEFA countries for an example. Will need to add a second pair of {} for it to work! Jowaninpensans (talk) 12:38, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think you are right Jowaninpensans. Question is: how to make it better. Would TOC|limit|2 help? Hamish59 (talk) 13:01, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Just tried TOC|limit|2 on the page and it did not work too well and was not useful. So still prefer the horizontal list. Jowaninpensans (talk) 13:21, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot find a way to hide the TOC by default. That would help. Be bold. Hamish59 (talk) 13:42, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
TOC hidden will hide it completely - is that what you are looking for?--Bcp67 (talk) 20:34, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
