2006 In Late August 2006 Saakashvili set the date for the local elections for Octobre 5th, not giving the oppositional parties any time to prepare. The media, TV Stations, Radio and Newspapers are influenced by the ruling national movement in order to influence and manipulate people. Saakashvili tries to keep his party in power this way. Even OSCE ambassador Dr. Geert-Hichrich Ahrends complained about the short time to prepare and only set up a limited observing missing for the local eletions.

The concerns are valid, although they need to be properly sourced. --Ghirla -трёп- 09:25, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The elections were fraudulent.Several opposition parties weren't even registered. And let's not forget the arrests of opposition activists in the begining of autumn. Is this the victory of democracy in Georgia?I don't think so.Dimts 08:09, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Would you please be so kind to stop your anti-Georgian campaign on Wikipedia? So far you have not contributed even a single word to this project except for posting negative comments on Georgia. All international observers say the elections were fair and we can hardly regard Russians as a disinterested party in the debate over Georgian democracy. I've already aswered you on Talk:Mikheil Saakashvili that those arrested are not opposition but the fifth column who are despised by most Georgians, be they pro- or anti-Saakashvili. --Kober 08:26, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
