"Was?"[edit]

There are still people called Hanlon today, why does this article speak in the past tense? Rí Lughaid (talk) 12:37, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why is there no mention of the name Hallinan? For instance in this article referring to the Glenquin Castle http://www.of-ireland.info/castles/glenquin.html near Killeedy the clan name is described as O'Hallinan with (O'Hanlan) in brackets.

Hallinan is one the purest derivatives of the O'hAnluain Clan left today and is far more relevant than the tenuous likes of Hanley, Henley et al which are closer in lineage to the English toffs of the Henley Regatta than they are the Irish O'Hallinan clan.

Even Halligan is more relevant than Henley but that doesn't get a mention either. If you look at the area of Limerick where the Hallinan name is most prominent today you can easily come to the glaringly obvious conclusion that the Hallinan name is obviously one of the closest relations the the original O'hAnluain clan.

In fact it is just as much of a recognisd translation as O'Hanlan if alot less commonplace. That much isn't even in dispute yet not ONE mention whatsoever. Surely this must be rectified.

Vincent Hallinan ran for the American Presidency in 1952 and the San Francisco family dynasty should be mentioned in this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by O'Hanluain (talkcontribs) 13:56, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
