Ontario Lacus is a methane-ethane lake near the south pole of Saturn's moon Titan. Its character as a hydrocarbon lake was confirmed[1] by observations from the Cassini spacecraft, and was published in the 31 July 2008 edition of Nature. It is about 20,000 km² in area, and is named after Lake Ontario in North America, with which it shares a similar size and shape.
