Links in ZIM files

Exporting a book into a ZIM file leaves the links visible and clickable, so they currently link to en.wikipedia.org, of course without actually going anywhere in offline mode. I think links should be clickable only in the case that the article behind the link is also included in the book. (E.g. in Wikipedia 0.8 only the articles available in the ZIM are having functional links.) --41.204.51.130 (talk) 14:23, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Try asking an expert book creator on this resource. Abhijay (☎ Talk) (✐ Deeds) 11:57, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Where can I find a book expert? PDF documents do not maintain links. Thanks

Help Question: PDF on Kindle

Hi, can anyone advise me on what to do with PSF wikibooks so that I can read them on my Kindle? The ones I have are too small and unfortunately Kindle doesn't nicely reformat/zoom them so I thought perhaps there was another way to make it read well on the Kindle? I just need bigger text really as it is page-to-screen. Thanks very much. 178.17.66.1 (talk) 16:01, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

I assume you are talking about Wikipedia Books not Wikibooks, which is a different project specifically for writing textbooks. If you have already used "Create a book" and "Add this page to your book" for the Wikipedia pages you want to include, you can then use "Show book" to download your book as an OpenDocument ODT file. This can be reformatted with the OpenOffice.org Word Processor for a smaller page size such as A5 and exported as PDF from OpenOffice. You will probably need to do some editing to get the layout up to a reasonable standard though. Hope this helps! Recent Runes (talk) 16:43, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Question

When I recently created a book, some of the pages were not presented very appropriately. Can you tell me what has to be done to fix this error? Abhijay (☎ Talk) (✐ Deeds) 11:54, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Another question is this: Why do the articles take note of references for the books you create? I noticed this for a book I created based upon Duke University. Abhijay (☎ Talk) (✐ Deeds) 11:58, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
Lastly, I wanted to know how can you get an automated tool to create books? Abhijay (☎ Talk) (✐ Deeds) 12:00, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
