Dubious[edit]

"pro-cure advocates believe that autism is a disorder caused by genetic defects"

This leaves out the the pro-cure advocates who believe that autism is caused by vaccinations, mercury or other environmental factors.

"that all autistic people would be better off if they were not autistic"

I've seen pro-cure arguments that say that a cure would good because it would benefit people without autism. Also those who wish to cure only "low-functioning" autists; if you count those as pro-cure. Clr324 (talk) 17:02, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

All valid concerns. I've added "or environmental harm" and removed "all" from "all autistic people". Tell me if you think this change is sufficient. Muffinator (talk) 18:04, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Are functioning labels a significant topic to cover in the article? Muffinator (talk) 18:05, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Functioning labels are largely irrelevant at least in the context of this Wikipedia article. I just used it as an example in order to show that generalizations aren't always good. I'm sorry, I just dislike some generalizations. Clr324 (talk) 21:07, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
