Twingate is an information security company that develops a network access security solution for organizations, based on the zero trust security model. Its solution commonly replaces business VPNs.[1]

History[edit]

Twingate was founded in 2019 by Tony Huie, Alex Marshall and Lior Rozner and is headquartered in Redwood City, California and has teams distributed around the world.[2]

In October 2020, it was announced that the company raised $17 million in a Series A financing from 8VC, Green Bay Ventures, SignalFire, WndrCo and Dropbox founders Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowsi.[3]

Technology[edit]

The company’s product facilitates least privilege remote access by end users to an organization’s private network resources, whether they are located on-premises or in the cloud. The company’s product is delivered under the software as a service model and is described as an “Identity-First Networking” product that ties access to user and device identities, rather than IP addresses associated with traditional network access security technologies.[4]

Twingate holds over 18 patents for its technology.[5]
