The Salzburg Guitar Trio is a highly regarded ensemble in the field of classical guitar music, known for their captivating performances and dynamic stage presence. The trio has performed at various European music festivals and concert venues, receiving international acclaim for their emotionally charged and dramatic presentations.

As artists-in-residence at La Pedrera, a famous modernist building designed by Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona, the Salzburg Guitar Trio collaborated with Catalan composer José Galeote to premiere his piece "La Pedrera - En Construcci," which was inspired by the building's unique architecture.

The ensemble has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including first prizes at the "Ciutat d'Elx Guitar Festival" in Spain, the "Corelli-Savarez Chamber Music Competition" in Salzburg, and the "Valle dei Laghi Guitar Festival" in Italy. They also secured the Grand Prize in the Guitar Foundation of America's International Ensemble[1], which resulted in a GFA Artists Tour across the United States and Canada in early 2023. During this tour, they provided masterclasses and outreach concerts at various guitar societies and universities.

The Salzburg Guitar Trio is composed of Katie Lonson (Canada), Stefan Volpp (Germany), and Andrew Booth (United Kingdom). The trio was founded, along with Izan Rubio (Spain), while the members were pursuing their master's degrees in solo guitar at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria.

Their debut album, titled "III," is set to be released in spring 2023 and will feature highlights from their current repertoire.
