List of episodes

"Reset" is the sixth episode of the eighth and final season of Arrow, based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, revolving around billionaire playboy Oliver Queen as he returns to Starling City (later renamed Star City), after having been shipwrecked and becomes a bow-wielding, hooded vigilante who sets out to fight crime and corruption. It is set in the Arrowverse, sharing continuity with the other television series of the universe. The episode is written by Onalee Hunter Hughes & Maya Houston and directed by David Ramsey.

Stephen Amell stars as Oliver, and is joined by principle cast members David Ramsey, Rick Gonzalez, Juliana Harkavy, Katherine McNamara, Ben Lewis, Joseph David-Jones, LaMonica Garrett and Katie Cassidy with special guest star Paul Blackthorne returning as Quentin Lance. The episode follows Oliver and Laurel trapped in a time loop of Quentin's death.

Plot[edit]

Oliver awakens at his home where he is greeted by Mia, William and Connor before attending a party where he meets with Diggle and discovers Quentin is alive as mayor. Quentin gets an alert that the Starling City Police Department has been taken hostage by mercnaries, demanding that they speak to Quentin. Quentin agrees to their terms while Oliver defeats them, only for their leader to set off a bomb.

The next day, Oliver reawakens in his room only to realise he is re-living the same day. When he discovers that Laurel is experiencing the same events, they deduce that the Monitor placed them in the time loop. On the third reset, they realise that stopping the bomb is causing Quentin's death hence the resets. On the fourth reset, Lyla approaches Oliver, telling him he is missing the point before killing Quentin. On the fifth reset, Laurel comes to terms with Quentin's death. On the sixth reset, Lyla informs Oliver Laurel's missing and that he needs to learn to accept the inevitable for everything to end. After a talk with Quentin, Oliver goes through one more reset and allows Quentin to meet his fate.

Afterwards, Lyla states that he has passed the Monitor's test by allowing Quentin to have his final moments and reveals the Monitor brought William, Mia, and Connor to the present. Oliver and Laurel wake up on Lian Yu alongside Diggle, William, Mia, and Connor.
