Morgan Mercer is an American entrepreneur and innovator in the field of virtual reality technology. She is the founder and CEO of Vantage Point, a company that specializes in using VR for training and education in areas such as diversity, equity, and inclusion.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Mercer's passion for technology and its potential to create positive social change was ignited at a young age.[2] Growing up, she was fascinated by the ways in which technology could connect people and enhance their lives.[3] She studied business and political science at East Carolina University. Mercer is a two-time survivor of sexual harassment.[1]

Career[edit]

Morgan's career in the tech industry began with a focus on user experience design and product development. She worked for several years in this capacity, gaining valuable insights into how technology can be used to improve people's lives.[4] It was during this time that she began to explore the potential of VR as a tool for creating immersive and impactful training experiences.[5]

In 2017, Morgan founded Vantage Point with the goal of revolutionizing the way companies approach training on sensitive topics such as sexual harassment and diversity and inclusion.[6][7] The company's VR training programs have been praised for their effectiveness in creating empathy and understanding among employees, leading to more inclusive and respectful workplaces.[8][9]

As of 2020, Vantage Point has raised $3.75 million for her anti-bias training platform, a feat done only by a few of minority women.[6] Investors include Samara Hernandez, Dana Wright, and Adrian Fenty.[11]
