Mona Abdulrahman Al-Owais (Arabic: منى عبد الرحمن العويس; born 27 October 1996) is a Saudi professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Saudi Women's Premier League club Al Shabab and the Saudi Arabia national team.
Club career[edit]
Mona played the first season of the Saudi Women's Premier League with Al Hilal making six appearances. she also played for Al Hilal's futsal team in the Saudi games winning gold.[1]
Al-Shabab[edit]
After the conclusion of the 2022–23 season, Mona joined Al-Shabab. Since joining the club, she has featured in every game. Abdulrahman's impressive performance has led her to be nominated for the Women's Premier League Goalkeeper of the Month award after maintaining a clean sheet in three matches.[2]
International career[edit]
Mona was called into the senior Saudi Arabia national team for the first time in February 2023, the debut campaign of the Saudi team on the international stage.[3] She debuted for the team on 24 February 2022 after she came as a substitute for Sara Khalid in the 86th minute, in a 2–0 win against the Maldives.[4]
