Mark Ritchie, born Mark Anthony Ritchie on July 17th, 1969, is an Emmy and Grammy-winning film director, film producer, and executive producer originally from Ottawa, Canada. Known for directing in visual entertainment, Ritchie has collaborated with many celebrities including Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, and Drake.

Career[edit]

Recognized as a leading storyteller and visual artist, Mark is best known for his abilities as a pioneer of large-scale cinematic multiple-camera setup productions and special events.

Noteworthy among his achievements is lensing Beyoncé’s Grammy-winning special Homecoming, as well as directing On the Run II Tour, Beyoncé and Jay Z's 2018 world tour. Mark's influence also extends into the theatrical realm, where he both executive produced and co-directed Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, released globally in theaters to widespread acclaim.

Mark has done directorial work on Emmy-winning productions such as Oprah Presents: When They See Us Now, a companion special of When They See Us, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, comedy specials featuring Mike Epps & Felipe Esparza for Netflix and Hulu’s Emmy-nominated Only Murders in the Building One Killer Question.

In addition to his success in film and television, Mark has produced and directed large scale campaigns for fashion lumineers including Cartier, Ralph Lauren, H&M, Alexander Wang, and Balmain.

Most recently, Mark produced and directed the Grammy-nominated Kendrick Lamar Live: The Big Steppers Tour for Amazon Prime.

He has also done directing work on Kanye West with Special Guest Drake - Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert, presented live in IMAX (IMAX’s first Live Music Event), Wu-Tang Clan NY State of Mind Live to Amazon directing and producing Miley Cyrus's electrifying performance at Glastonbury Festival, Lady Gaga's Love for Salefor Westfield Group, Sir Elton John's holiday collaboration with Cartier and creative producing for Coachella Music Festival Live streams.
