March of the Penguins 2: The Next Step (French: L'Empereur) is a French documentary directed by Luc Jacquet, released on February 15 , 2017.
A sequel to March of the Penguins the film was released by Disneynature in France on 15, February 2017, with narration by Lambert Wilson. The film was alternatively titled March of the Penguins 2: The Call.
Skipping a theatrical release in the US, the film was released as a Hulu exclusive on 23 March 2018, with Morgan Freeman reprising his role as narrator.[1] It was later released on DVD in the UK by Lionsgate Films on 5 November.
The sequel was released to moderate success and received positive reviews, scoring 100% on Rotten Tomatoes based on five reviews.[2]
Synopsis[edit]
A very young emperor penguin learns to live in the hostile environment of Antarctica, under the watchful eye of his father who watches over the first months of his life.
After several months on the ice floe, where his parents protected and fed him, he instinctively returned to the ocean, located several tens of kilometers from where he was born.

The film received generally favorable critical reception. The Allociné site offers an average of 3.5/5 based on the interpretation of 19 reviews[3]
Box-office[edit]
The film went beyond sales in France, which constitutes a failure.[4][5] The film achieved almost half of its admissions during its first week of operation, finishing at the top of the national weekly box office.[5] It collected nearly 1.5 million dollars in revenue worldwide, mainly in France[4]
