The propaganda slogan taken during Nixon's visit to China in 1972 : "Long live the great, glorious and correct Communist Party of China!".

" Long live the Chinese Communist Party " is a political slogan . It originated from the " Manifesto of the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China " published in July 1922 , and gradually began to be used in various fields to express political positions, propositions, or as a slogan for political propaganda. Similar slogans include " Long live the great Communist Party of China! " and " Long live the great, glorious and correct Communist Party of China! " and so on.

Origin[edit]

In July 1922, the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in the Shanghai International Settlement, which determined the highest and lowest party platforms of the Communist Party. The meeting issued the "Declaration of the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China"[1]

    • On the top of the Erqi Memorial Tower , a landmark building commemorating the February 7th strike in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, there is a neon sign with this slogan.

军事调处执行部中共代表叶剑英,在1946年4月3日北平市军警宪特逮捕了《解放》报社人员以及叶剑英的军事顾问滕代远的秘书李新等44名共产党员一事解决之后,带领出狱人员路过西长安街时,燃放鞭炮并高呼过“中国共产党万岁”。[6]

Peng Pai[edit]

Former member of the Chinese Kuomintang , secretary of the Ministry of Farmers of the Kuomintang Central Committee, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China elected at the Sixth National Congress of the Communist Party of China , and Mao Zedong called China’s "Peasant Movement King"[7]Peng Pai , who was betrayed on August 24, 1929. After the arrest, he sang the " Internationale " and shouted the slogan " Long live the Communist Party of China " when he was killed in Shanghai Longhua Prison[8][9]

Yun Daiying[edit]

Former Whampoa Military Academy Political Department instructor, early leader of the Communist Party of China, and leader of the Guangzhou Uprising , Yun Daiying chanted the slogan " Long live the Communist Party of China " when he was shot in Nanjing Military Prison after being arrested in Shanghai in 1930 . Zhao Shiyan[edit]

参与过国民革命军北伐的前中共中央北方局常委、前中华人民共和国国务院总理李鹏之舅父赵世炎,于1927年四一二事变后在上海从事秘密活动时被捕之后,在上海枫林桥被处决时,呼喊过“中国共产党万岁”这一口号[11]

赵一曼[edit]

Alumni of Wuhan Huangpu Military Academy , anti-Japanese martyrs, and political commissar of the 2nd Regiment of the 1st Division of the 3rd Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces, Zhao Yiman was captured by the Japanese Kwantung Army and was killed by the Japanese army in Zhuhe County (now Shangzhi City , Heilongjiang Province ) in 1936. Outside the north gate, the slogan " Long live the Chinese Communist Party " was shouted[10]

1989 democracy movement students[edit]

On April 27, 1989, during the 1989 pro-democracy movement , Beijing college students held a 427 demonstration in Beijing to protest the " April 26 Editorial " published by the " People's Daily " . In the parade, students once sang the banner of " Long live the Chinese Communist Party ."[12]

Xi Jinping[edit]

Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China on the National Day of the People's Republic of China in 2019 . At the end of the speech, Xi Jinping shouted the slogan "Long live the great People's Republic of China! Long live the great Communist Party of China! Long live the great Chinese people!"[13]
