Kitchen Arts & Letters is an independent bookstore focused on books about food and drink. The store is located at 1435 Lexington Avenue, between 93rd and 94th Streets in the Carnegie Hill neighborhood on Manhattan's Upper East Side.[1]

History[edit]

Opened in 1983, by Nach Waxman, Kitchen Arts & Letters had early notable patrons such as Julia Child, James Beard, and Laurie Colwin.[1]

Inventory[edit]

The store has more than 12,000 titles in stock, from a variety of countries and in many different languages. The basement (accessible to staff only) holds the store's inventory of out-of-print and rare books.[2] The store also carries magazines and journals. [3]
