Invincible is an upcoming American superhero film produced, written and directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, based on the comics of the same name by Robert Kirkman (who also serves as producer), Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley.
Invincible is a co-production between Universal Pictures, Skybound Entertainment and Point Grey Pictures, and will be released by Universal Pictures.
Production[edit]
In April 2017, it was announced that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will write and direct a film adaptation of the comic book series Invincible for Universal Pictures, with Point Grey Pictures and Skybound Entertainment as production companies; series co-creator Robert Kirkman is set to produce the movie for Skybound with David Alpert, and Bryan and Sean Furst, alongside Point Grey's Rogen, Goldberg, and James Weaver.[1]
In January 2021, Kirkman updated that the film was still happening, separately from the animated series adaptation, which also involved Skybound Entertainment and Point Grey Pictures.[2] In March 2023, Rogen stated that the series' success and popularity influenced the film, primarily by changing the approach of a "different" take to a more faithful one, saying the film "should feel like a live-action adaptation of the cartoon. Which is a direct adaptation of the comic".[3]
