Draft:Creamface cockatiel

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Creamface cockatiel is one of the most popular cockatiel mutations. This mutation was discovered in South Africa by Mr. Lester De Kok. The mutation affects the birds by reducing their yellow and orange .[1]As a result ,Creamface cockatiels look like whiteface cockatiels.[2]

This mutation is a recessive mutation, but it is dominant to whiteface. This means that if you pair a creamface cockatiel with a whiteface cockatiel, you their chicks are all Creamface-Whiteface cockatiels. This kind of cockatiel have light yellow cheeks. If you pair a Creaamface-whiteface cockatiel with a whiteface one, half of the chicks will be Creamface-whiteface cockatiels while the other half will be whiteface. Moreover, if you pair a Creamface-whiteface cockatiel with another Creamface-whiteface cockatiel, half of the chicks will be Creamface-whiteface cockatiel, one fourth of them will be whiteface, and one fourth will be creamface.[3][4][5]
