Christoph Rösener (born May 27, 1964, in Miltenberg, Bavaria, Germany) is a German linguist, translator and terminologist. As a university professor at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, he teaches at the Faculty 06 of Translation, Linguistics and Cultural Studies (FTSK) in Germersheim[1][2].

Life[edit]

In the winter term 2004/05, Christoph Rösener obtained the academic degree "Dr. phil." with his dissertation "Die Stecknadel im Heuhaufen. Natürlichsprachlicher Zugang zu Volltextdatenbanken"[3] in linguistics under Johann Haller at the Chair of Machine Translation at Saarland University[4].

He was appointed professor of Specialist German Communication in the International Specialist Communication (IFK) course at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences in 2011. In August 2012, he also became vice dean of the Information & Communication department[5].

In August 2014, he was appointed professor of "Translation-related Linguistics / Translation Technology" at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and has been working at the Faculty of Translation, Linguistics and Cultural Studies (FTSK) in Germersheim since April 2015, where he is head of the General and Applied Linguistics and Translation Technology (ASTT) department[6].
