Airboss is a 1997 American action film directed by J. Christian Ingvordsen.

Plot[edit]

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the dictator of the new state of Kabalistan that replaced it comes up with a plan to destroy the oil refineries of the Middle East to drive the price of oil to put the West in distress. To do this, a former soldier of the Soviet Union steals a prototype of an unknown Soviet stealth bomber.

A special SEAL unit is supposed to prevent this destruction.

Criticism[edit]

“Action film, set up as a confrontation between two top agent teams, which indulges less in cinematic logic than in weapon fetishism.”[1]

"With the help of several well-filled boxes of official military archive material, director and arms lobbyist J. Christian Ingvorden ("Black Berets") serves up the Aldi version of "Top Gun", with the Arabs, the nation's favorite villains, this time slipping into the role of victims and as a bogeyman. The good old "Iwan" (in the form of Frank Zagarino) raises his Medusa head again. Not a particularly big hit, but interesting for curious action watchers and aviation fans.”[2]
