Adeolu Khafre is a brand based in the city of Lagos, specializing in the production of indigenous games, apparel, and martial arts-related items.[1][2] The local and international demand for its innovative Ankara Ayo Mancala elevated the luxury brand to notoriety.

History[edit]

The brand, established in 2021, originated from a collaborative effort involving The Avenue Creative Limited, Polymath, and technologist designer Ade Olufeko. The inspiration for the brand's name can be traced back to Olufeko's expeditions to ancient monuments, including Egypt's Giza complex and the historic site Sungbo's Eredo in the Ijebu Kingdom, both in 2017, where he found creative inspiration in the ancient structures. The brand became trademarked under the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment in 2023.[3]

Alignment with SDGs[edit]

Adeolu Khafre an ongoing lifestyle project aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals SDG 9, SDG 11 and SDG 12.

In a noteworthy contribution to the Nigerian economy, extensively documented by various sources, which frequently relies on imports of foreign items, Adeolu Khafre's brand actively championed its 100% made-in-Nigeria mancala. This commitment to local production is substantiated by verifiable records, underscoring the brand's dedication to indigenous craftsmanship. Moreover, this initiative has been acknowledged for its measurable impact on fostering economic growth within the city of Lagos.[4]
