The 2024 Malaysia M4 League (Malay: Liga M4 Malaysia), also known as the al-Ikhsan Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the third season of the Malaysia M4 League, currently the third tier football league in the Malaysian football league system.[1] The season started on the 3rd of June.
Format[edit]
The tournament is played as follows:
M4 League structure system[edit]
- League level: 42 teams are divided into three zones, namely Zone 1 (15 teams), Zone 2 (15 teams) and Zone 3 (12 teams), each drawn from the Central/South, East Coast/North and Borneo regions.
Promoted to the M3 League[edit]
- The league will be divided into three zones, each team will play at home and away to determine the position in the group. The top one Team in each Group by zone will Qualify directly to the main League 2025/2026 Malaysia M3 League. So the three teams that win the League in each respective zone will qualify directly to the League 2025/2026 Malaysia M3 League
- With this League system, it can provide a balanced opportunity for all teams in each zone to qualify for a higher League
Relegated from the M5 League[edit]
- The teams that occupy the bottom two positions of the League in each zone will be relegated to the M5 League. Each zone will have a different number of eliminated teams. It depends on the number of teams from which zone will be eliminated in the M3 league, for example if there are two teams from the Central / South Zone in the bottom ladder eliminated in the M3 league. Teams in the Central / South Zone League will have three teams eliminated.
