Roald Dahl would be a better example for Welsh screenwriters. Roald Dahl wrote the screenplays for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, You Only Live Twice, as well as numerous television scripts. In addition, much of his writing has been adapted into films and he has written the stories for television episodes for a few series. What may not be known is that he worked in Disney's story department long before he wrote any of his known work.

Roald Dahl was born in and grew up in Wales, but his work is definitely better known than that of R. Davies.
