Should this really be merged with or at the very least made a subcategory of Category:Texas musicians? This might be a somewhat broader category than was intended by Texas music, but it seems to be inevitable. This would also reduce confusion between this and Category:Music of Texas. -MrFizyx 17:55, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Making it a subcategory is definitely appropriate. My intention when I created the category was to also create an article about the "Texas music" genre, which is different than musicians who simply are "from" Texas. I still think that separation makes sense, but an article about the genre and some accompanying text on this category would help with that. I'll work to make this clearer (of course help is appreciated!) Lbbzman 18:30, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I'll give you some time to make this more clear. I assume your aiming at the type of music described in the movie "Heartworn Highways." I've added Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt to this subcategory. I don't know if you want to include earlier progenitors such as Lightnin' Hopkins or not. I'll await the article. -MrFizyx 18:48, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
