Scope[edit]

This category would best be limited to people who immigrated from 1907 on. We have a distinct category Category:Immigrants to the Colony of New Zealand for those who immigrated before 1907. That is a good practice because those fall under Category:Immigrants to the British Empire while people in this category do not.John Pack Lambert (talk) 16:15, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"We have a distinct category" = You "created" very recently that distinct category. This is bad practice as it divides the cat for no real benefit, and worse you are removing people from the New Zaland cats (old or new) and putting them directly in the British Empire cat, losing the information. If you think it is necessary for those people that the British Empire angle is categorized as well, you can just add a category to these pages, without losing the already available information.
