"Foreigners of the Philippines" sounds very awkward. Ultimately, we'll end up having all foreign nationals in the Philippines listed under this category. It would be more appropriate to use "Famous Foreign Nationals in the Philippines" - 7258 15:17, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- Why does it sound awkward? On the other hand Famous is redundant for notable. All articles /people in wiki are famous/notable.--Jondel 01:30, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments. Maybe "Outstanding Foreigners in the Philippines" or "Outstanding Foreign Nationals in the Philippines" or simply "Foreigners in the Philippines" will sound better. I feel uncomfortable with the use of "of." "Foreigners of the Philippines" is grammatical but it appears awkward from the view point of British and American English users -- especially when applied to an encyclopedia-type entry. - 7258 06:05, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
- One other suggestion:(1)People associated with the Philippines with the understanding of course that these are non-natives.Also (2) Non-natives of the Philippines (uh, this probably sounds horrible). Another:Expatriates of the Philippines'. --Jondel 06:48, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

- I’ve seen this done in other categories: Why don’t we retain the current name, and then just put up a description saying “This category lists notable foreigners who live or have lived in the Philippines” or something similar.
Foreigners in the Philippines was proposed at the Tambayan and is fine. Although this is not totally accurate because Ferdinand Blumentritt never visited the islands.--Jondel 00:32, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
