What is the criteria for inclusion in this category?[edit]
We have Category:Towns in Queensland and Category:Cities in Queensland? What is the basis for deciding a place is a town vs a city? I note the official Queensland Place Names database does not make any such distinction, referring to all of them as "population centres". Some local government areas uses the term "City" while others are "Regions" but the naming of LGAs seems to be accident of history, e.g. City of Cairns was a local government area that was enlarged to become Cairns Region but it's hard to argue that Cairns, Queensland ceased to be a "city" in the informal sense of that term as a result of such a change.
