Aruq (Persian: اروق)^[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Gavdul-e Markazi Rural District^[4] of the Central District of Malekan County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 3,566 in 902 households.^[5] The following census in 2011 counted 3,904 people in 1,149 households.^[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 4,462 people in 1,288 households.^[2]
