A barnstar for you![edit]

The Copyright Cleanup Barnstar
I see you haven't recieved a barnstar in awhile, so I just wanted to re-iterate what others have in the past in that I appreciate your review of RD1 requests and application of revision deletion. The promptness of your actions also help a non-administrator such as myself, in that it confirms to me that I am accurately spotting copyright violations rather than wasting administrator time and incorrectly biting newcomers. Your work is appreciated! —Sirdog (talk) 06:27, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. It's a bit of a grind at times but easier when there's people like you doing the legwork in identifying the stuff and labelling it up beforehand. Nthep (talk) 08:58, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tool of the week

  • Wikidata periodic table - Tool by User:Ricordisamoa, to browse all chemical elements available on Wikidata, with atomic number, chemical symbol, and localized label. It also includes two charts of the nuclides, with links to every isotope in Wikidata, colored by half-life or decay mode.

Other Noteworthy Stuff

  • A new UI mode is available for the online validator for EntitySchemas. It represents validation reports as a table rather than a very long string, and replaces most links with hyperlinks with some of the text behind them; making them easier to read. Currently being tested at https://shex-validator.toolforge.org/packages/shex-webapp/doc/shex-simple-improved.html, we are looking for participants to evaluate this tool. Some experience with editing Wikidata is appreciated, but no experience working with Schemas is required. If you are interested, you can sign up here. We hope to begin interviews around May 13. Sandhu[edit]

Hi, it regarding repeated addition of COPYVIO material by the same IP range here copied from Ancestry.com. Previously, it was revdeled by you here. I'd like to request page protection if possible. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:53, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Fylindfotberserk revdel'd and IP range blocked for a week. Nthep (talk) 12:51, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:56, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for removing copyright violations[edit]

I'm DrPlantGenomics, and write wikipages for women. I also am a single parent and working while raising my children, and write pages while volunteering, i.e. I don't have much free time. I had some pages get notified for copyright violations yesterday, despite my best interests. The process of having copyright violations was rather offputting as I dip in and out of wiki editing according to work and parenting. I was about to say 'if copyright violations are the result, people with more time can edit, and I'll nominate women in science for prizes', but given you removed the violations, I am less likely to reshift my volunteering away from wiki. Many thanks. You have restored my faith in the best way to uplift other people. Also, I don't know the appropriate way to comment on other people's talk pages, so I hope this works. Many thanks again.

Disruptive editor[edit]

Hi Nthep. I was looking at this recent grave dancing and I think it may be from an IP editor you previously blocked at 148.252.128.0/20. I think the range may need to be expanded to 148.252.128.0/19. There may be some other IP ranges involved, but that's the only one that seems fairly clear to me. Could you please take a look? Thanks. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 01:47, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Daniel Quinlan although there's a range overlap, it looks like a different person to the one I was aiming at and their disruptive editing around the BBC kids show Swashbuckle and associated articles. Nthep (talk) 13:42, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for taking a look. Given those topics, it sounds like a different disruptive editor. I think the editor you were dealing with is using the broader range, though. They appear to be present on 148.252.146.31, 148.252.141.48, and 148.252.140.135, for example. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 18:16, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
