I am not going to edit the article directly, because I was asked to by a since-blocked user in a decidedly non-neutral way and I want to avoid even the appearance of impropriety. However, while there are apparently legitimate concerns about COI and sockpuppetry, their objection to labelling Aeschilman an "innkeeper and B&B owner" appears valid. This appears both in the lead and infobox but not in the body of the article (violating WP:LEAD). The only source given is not only primary, but doesn't mention Aeschliman at all. Googling Aeschliman suggests that it is true that he and his wife own property in Italy which they rent out as holiday cottages, but I cannot find any reliable sources which would suggest that it's WP:DUE in this article, let alone that it's important enough to get equal billing in the lead with his academic work. Anything in a BLP that fails verification should be removed immediately. I have done so rather than protecting the article again. ~Anachronist (talk) 15:34, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good edits, and it is likely that I should've removed the B&B bit myself. The revert to an old version restored a lot of puffery and an overlong publications list, which is why I reverted. Russ Woodroofe (talk) 17:08, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good progress. Thanks y'all. I also removed some bloated parts: the BLP is not a place to aggregate book reviews in much detail at all. Reference numbers alone indicate apparent import. JFHJr (㊟) 20:50, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
PS. This subject's IRL friend and sockpuppet co-creation is Conrad Hughes. Eyes and scalpels would be appreciated. It's unclear to me whether either passes WP:GNG or WP:NAUTHOR. JFHJr (㊟) 20:52, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Anachronist: Thanks for your start there. I put away the scalpel and found the cleaver. Thanks in advance for any input anyone has at AfD. JFHJr (㊟) 01:11, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
