Freebird Airlines (Hürkuş Hava Yolu Taşımacılık ve Ticaret A.Ş.), a subsidiary of Gözen Holding, is an international airline registered in Turkey and Malta. Primarily focusing on European countries, it operates scheduled and charter flights to various holiday destinations. Its main base is Antalya Airport.[1]

History[edit]

Freebird Airlines was established in 2000 and commenced its first commercial flight on April 5, 2001. Initially operating with a fleet of three McDonnell Douglas MD-83 aircraft, the airline has expanded its operations and, as of 2024, flies to over 100 airports with a fleet of 14 Airbus A320s.

A subsidiary of Gözen Holding, Freebird Airlines benefits from the parent company's extensive experience of over 40 years in the aviation industry, covering representation, fuel supply, surveillance, brokerage, safety, and training.

Freebird Airlines is committed to creating value for its customers, employees, and shareholders through its technology and employment infrastructure aimed at sustainable aviation. In 2002, Freebird became the first airline in Turkey to receive the ISO 9001:2000 Certificate from TUV Rheinland. In July 2006, it became the first charter airline in Turkey to achieve the IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) registration issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Freebird Airlines Europe[edit]

Freebird Airlines Europe (FHM) commenced operations in Europe on February 20, 2019, after receiving its operating license (EASA AOC) from the Malta Civil Aviation Directorate (TM CAD).

Flight Network[edit]

Freebird Airlines, which operates charter flights to popular destinations from many countries, particularly in Europe, began offering scheduled flights in January 2022. In the summer of 2024, Freebird will provide daily flights between London and Antalya, in addition to scheduled flights to Turkey from 13 cities in Germany.
