Fred Hutton is a Canadian politician from Newfoundland and Labrador. he was elected to the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly for the Liberal Party in the 2024 Conception Bay East–Bell Island provincial by-election. The district had been held by Progressive Conservatives for the previous 20 years.[1] On February 29, 2024, he was appointed Minister of Housing and Minister responsible for the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation.[2]
Hutton formerly worked as a journalist and advisor to Premier Andrew Furey.[3] He worked as both a news director and a morning show co-host at VOCM-FM.[4] Hutton worked for NTV co-anchoring the NTV Evening News Hour from 1990 to 2013.
